Inhabitare | Jackie Nickerson
This intriguing photography project by renowned photographer “Jackie Nickerson” is a unique and complex visual narrative about people's daily lives in domestic and interior spaces.
Inhabitare leads us, through a set of provocative images, in a mix of document and art, to spaces and moments that were not intended or produced to be seen by an audience: bedrooms, kitchens, dining and living rooms, work tables, leisure areas. They reflect the lives lived within them, and when we see people, they are immersed in their lives, their private thoughts, reading, making arrangements, chatting, or just passing through. Although what worries them, what they are talking about, or where they are going, is not explained, this does not mean that we cannot imagine what is happening, so that in addition to invading their spaces, we are also invading them. To some extent, their personal lives.
Each image in the book serves as a reflection on ourselves, our spaces, and the world around us.
