Where do the textile fibers used in this paper come from?
The textile fibres used in this paper are sourced from the recycling of textiles, including both pre-consumer waste (such as finishing scraps and defective fabrics) and post-consumer waste (like used or damaged clothing). We give new life to these materials by transforming them sustainably and usefully.
Is the paper biodegradable?
Yes, the paper is biodegradable, meaning it naturally breaks down in the environment without causing long-term harm. It is produced from natural cellulose-based fibers, which are compostable.
Is the paper soft and resistant?
Yes, despite being partially recycled, Renova TextilPapier maintains high standards of softness and resistance.
Is the toilet paper flushable in the toilet? Will it cause blockages?
No, the toilet paper does not cause toilet blockages. Like conventional tissue paper, its fibers are naturally cellulose-based. Laboratory tests have confirmed its proper disintegration, making it safe for toilets and sewage systems.
What’s the difference between this paper and traditional paper?
In terms of usage, Renova TextilPapier is exactly the same as conventional toilet paper and kitchen rolls. The difference lies in the origin of the fibers used in its production. While the fibers in standard Renova paper come from sustainably managed forests and/or the so-called "urban forest" — where we collect office and other papers for recycling and give them a second life — TextilPapier also incorporates fibers from textile recycling.
Can this kitchen towels go in the microwave?
Yes, it can be used in the microwave. Its usage is entirely the same as traditional kitchen towels, including applications and limitations.
Can this kitchen towels be reused like a cloth?
No, like traditional kitchen rolls, it’s a single-use, disposable product. It’s made of paper and not designed for reuse like a cloth.
How do you achieve a white color from fibers of various colors?
In addition to pre-sorting the textile raw materials by color, the textile fibers go through a de-inking and washing process to reach the desired white color — much like recycled paper made from newspapers and magazines, which also have varied colors. The bleaching agents used are not harmful. The entire process is safe and environmentally responsible.
Does it contain chemicals or added fragrance?
Renova TextilPapier is an unscented product range. The manufacturing process is safe and environmentally friendly.
Will I be able to notice the textile fibers in the paper?
To the naked eye, textile fibers are visually indistinguishable from the ones typically used in paper production. Although they go through a de-inking and washing process to achieve the desired white color, occasional slight color variation may occur — but these are purely visual and don't affect the quality or performance of the paper.
Is it safe to use on sensitive areas?
The textile fibers used are natural cellulose-based fibers, and TextilPapier toilet paper is dermatologically and gynecologically tested to ensure it is safe for skin contact. Its production follows strict safety standards, using materials and processes that do not compromise human health or the environment.
Are the kitchen towels safe for food contact?
The use of TextilPapier kitchen towels is exactly the same as traditional kitchen towels, both in terms of applications and restrictions. Yes, they are tested to ensure they are safe for food contact.
What does the ECO FRIENDLY – GREEN DESIGN seal mean?
The Renova team is focused on designing and developing products aligned with an eco-design approach, and the Renova TextilPapier range is proof of this. By incorporating textile fibers into these products, paper consumption becomes more sustainable. In this way, we give a new life and purpose to textile fibers, rather than sending them directly to landfills or incineration, contributing to a more circular and sustainable economy. The benefit is for everyone — with just a small effort from each of us.
